Women's Volleyball Splits Day One of MidWest Invite

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More University No. 7-ranked women's volleyball team swept Susquehanna University tonight, 3-0 with scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-13. The Saints fell short in game two on the night against No. 16-ranked Hope, falling 3-1, with scores of 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 17-25. After going 1-1 on the night, the Saints move to 20-2. 


  • Junior Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio / Clermont Northeastern) and first-year Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) tied for the team high of 11 kills each. Mummert added one dig and four blocks while Mohs added two digs and one block. 
  • Senior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky. / Beechwood) recorded 33 assists in the match, along with 13 digs, two kills, and two blocks. 
  • Junior Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky. / Holy Cross) put up seven kills, one service ace, and 10 digs. 
  • Sophomore Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) finished the match with 11 digs, two assists, and one service ace. 
  • Junior Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio / McNicholas) chipped in 15 digs to Thomas More's total of 67. 
  • Junior Hannah Just (Louisville, Ky. / duPont Manual) added one assist, 14 digs, and two service aces. 
  • First-year Julia Popova (Sofia, Bulgaria / Beechwood) put up two kills, along with two blocks on the night. 
  • The Saints had the advantage in kills (42-30), assists (36-26), and digs (67-57).  


  • In game two, Mohs posted the team high of 17 kills, along with one dig and two blocks. 
  • Mummert added nine kills to her total on the night, along with one service ace, two digs, and four blocks. 
  • Krumpelman added six kills on the night, along with two assists, 12 digs, and two blocks. 
  • Fessler tacked on 36 assists, along with two kills, two service aces, seven digs, and two blocks. 
  • Popova added six kills to her total in game two, along with one dig and seven blocks. 
  • Just recorded five digs and one service ace. 
  • Ginn recorded the team high of 19 digs, along with two service aces. 

  • The Saints compete in day two of the 2018 Midwest Invitational where they will take on Elmhurst and No. 1-ranked Calvin tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 13. 
  • The match against Elmhurst will begin at 1 p.m. 
  • The match against No. 1 Calvin will begin at 3:30 p.m.
