Women's Volleyball Heads to the Bluffton Spiketacular

(CRESTVIEW HILL, Ky.) - The No. 23 Thomas More women's volleyball team travels to Bluffton this weekend for the Bluffton Spiketacular. The Saints head into the weekend undefeated, 4-0, and defeating two ranked teams.

  • The No. 23-ranked Thomas More Saints come into this weekend 4-0, after beating now ranked No. 18 ONU, Case Western Reserve, Bluffton and No. 12 Carnegie Mellon.
  • Thomas More defeated the Polar Bears 3-2, defeated Case Western Reserve 3-1, Bluffton 3-0, and Carnegie Mellon 3-1.
  • The Saints had scheduled their first home game of the season, that ended up being canceled, against Cincinnati Christian University.
  • Jenna Mummert leads the team with 70 kills and 133 total attempts.
  • Jenna Fessler leads the team in assists with 114.
  • Jessica Ginn leads the team in digs with 76.
  • Mummert was recently named ACAA Player of the Week.
  • The Saints were moved into the top-25 in the nation after taking down two ranked teams the opening weekend of the season.

  • Bluffton fell in three sets to Thomas More at the ONU Tournament last weekend.
  • The Beavers are 1-3 heading into the Bluffton Spiketacular this weekend.
  • Bethany Martini leads the team in kills (40) and digs (21).
  • Bluffton fell to IU-East in their home opener on Sept. 4.

  • No. 18 Ohio Northern, opened their season 4-1, receiving their only loss to Thomas More in the ONU Invitational.
  • ONU moved up a spot in the rankings from last week, previously ranked No. 19.
  • The Polar Bears defeated No. 12 Carnegie Mellon, 3-0.
  • Chelsea Huppert leads the team in kills with 62.
  • Katie Wade leads the team in assists with 211.
  • ONU recently swept Denison in three sets.

  • Heidelberg comes into this weekend 3-2 overall.
  • The Student Princes recently swept OWU, 3-0.
  • All three of the Berg's wins have been in three sets.  
  • Morgan Strenk leads the team in kills with 37.
  • Alyssa Edmond leads the team I assists with 65.

  • DePauw comes into this weekend .500, with a 2-2 overall record.
  • The Tigers are coming off two wins against Wisconsin-Platteville, 3-0, and Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-1.
  • Suzanne Peters leads the team in kills with 67.
  • Ally Low leads the team in assists with 154.
