Saints Shutout Across-the-River Rival Cincinnati Christian, 3-0

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women's soccer team shutout across-the-river rival Cincinnati Christian University, 3-0, tonight (Saturday, September 21, 2019) in a non-conference match at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

  • Senior forward Olivia Nienaber (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) gave the Saints a 1-0 lead the 1:53 mark when she found the back of the net.
  • The Saints increased the lead to 2-0 at the 3:12 mark when sophomore forward Jordan Harley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) scored.
  • Nienaber closed out the scoring at the 65:30 mark when she scored for the final score of 3-0.

  • Thomas More improve to 6-3, while the Eagle falls to 3-5.
  • The Saints out-shot Cincinnati Christian, 23-7, including 3-9 on-goal
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Peterson (Wilder, Ky./Campbell County) earned the shutout victory as she played all 90 minutes and had two saves.
  • Harley led the Saints' offensive attack with nine shots, including three on-goal.
  • Nienaber finished with four shots, including three on-goal.

  • The Saints return to action on Monday (September 23) when they host Asbury University at 7 p.m. at BB&T Field.
