Saints Score Four in Second Half, Beat Freed-Hardeman 5-0

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women's soccer team improved to 2-0 after a big second half propelled the Saints to a 5-0 victory over Freed-Hardeman (Friday, Aug. 23, 2019).

  • Senior forward Olivia Nienaber opened the scoring in the 28th minute with her first goal of the season.
  • Junior defended Abby Hutcheson scored her second goal of the season in the 57th minute, heading in a corner kick from Ryann Meddings.
  • Nienaber added her second goal of the game in the 60th minute.
  • Kaylee Terrell scored her first goal of the season in the 73rd minute.
  • Hannah Dargo scored the final goal of the game when she headed in a Meddings corner kick in the 83rd minute.

  • Meddings had two assists on corner kicks, giving her three assists on the season
  • Nienaber's two goals put her in a tie for the team lead in scoring with Hutcheson.
  • First year goalkeeper Skylin Yates played all 90 minutes and made one save for her second shutout of the season.
  • The Saints outshot the Lions 25-3, with 14 shots on goal.

  • Thomas More will stay home for a game against Ohio Christian on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. at BB&T Field.
