(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College lacrosse team hosted Hanover College for the Saints' senior day today, honoring Sydney Polster and Sarah LaCombe. The Saints fell 20-2, dropping to 1-8 on the season as Hanover improved to 11-5 overall.
The Panthers attacked the net early, scoring within the first minute of the game. The Panthers would score two more in the next two minutes before Jalee Connor put the Saints on the board, scoring off a free position shot. Hanover extended its lead to three, scoring two more. Connor found the back of the net again on a free position shot half way through the first half. The Panthers would go on to score six more before the end of the first half, going into half time with an 11-2 lead.
The Panthers controlled the scoring end of the second half, as the Saints could not find the back of the net. Hanover would score nine in the second half, going on to a 20-2 victory.
Aleyna Heyman started the game for the Saints in the goal, recording six saves against 17 shots. Gillian Casey started the second half of the game, recording one save off 10 shots. Connor scored both goals for the Saints, also recording two ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. Polster recorded three shots, four ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Karly Lehmkul recorded two shots and one draw control. Erin Carrus recorded one shot, one ground ball, and two caused turnovers.
The Saints hit the road for their final game of the season, heading up to Westminster, for a 10:00 start on Saturday.
