(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's lacrosse team hosted Franklin College in its second home game of the season. The 0-2 Saints came in looking to get their first win in the books against the 1-3 Grizzlies. After a hard fought game from the Saints, the Grizzlies out played them, ultimately winning 19-2. With the loss, the Saints fall to 0-3 overall and in the conference while Franklin improves to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The Grizzlies scored right off the bat, making the score 0-1 in the first :30 seconds of the game. The Saints tied it three minutes later from a goal by Jeni Hall. The Grizzlies took control of the game after the last Saints goal, scoring 12 more goals, making the score 1-13, before the Saints would score again. Mackenzie Hester scored in the first seven minutes of the second half to give Thomas More its second point. Franklin would go on to score six more, leaving with a 19-2 victory.
Sarah LaCombe recorded three shots and one shot on goal, along with onw draw control. Sydney Polster recorded three shots, including one shot on goal, one ground ball, one draw control, and one caused turnover. Hester had two shots, one shot on goal for her sole point in the game, along with two ground balls. Hall had one shot for one goal, including one draw control.
Gillian Casey started out in the goal for the Saints, recording three saves on 12 shot attempts. Erirn Carrus replaced Casey in the second half, recording three saves on seven shot attempts.
The Saints are back in action on April 8 as for the final game of the home stand, hosting Chatham. Game time will begin at 1:00 pm.
