(COVINGTON, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's golf team hosted its Second Annual Saints Spring Invitational at Twin Oaks Golf and Plantation Club in Covington, Kentucky.
After a sunny, spring day, the Saints are in first place going into the second day of the tournament with a team score of 338. Sophomore Emily Armbrecht (Taylor Mill, Ky./Holy Cross) led the team with an 82 and is currently holding second place on the leaderboard. Sophomore Christie Modafari (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and senior Emilie Mattei (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) are tied for fourth with matching scores of 83. Sophomore Sara Jackie (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) is tied for 11th after posted a 90, while first-year Sophia Illokken (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) is in 21st place with a 107.
Three Saints competed as individuals in the tournament. First-year Cora Bradford (Union, Ky./Ryle) and junior Amber Greene (Catlettsburg, Ky./Fairview) are tied for 18th with match scores of 98. Junior Bethany DeAtley (Muses Mills, Ky./Fleming County) is in 22nd place after posted a 118.
Adriane Mason from the University of Pikeville is currently holding the individual lead with an 80.
The Saints will play round two of their tournament tomorrow with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m.
