(WOOSTER, Ohio) – The Thomas More College women's golf team shot a first round 373 today (Saturday, October 8, 2016) and is in sixth place at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
Sophomore Emily Armbrecht (Taylor Mill, Ky./Holy Cross) led the Saints as she is in 12th place with an 89. Two other Saints are in the Top-25 as senior Emilie Mattei (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) is tied for 20th with a 93 and sophomore Sara Jackie (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) is tied for 24th with a 95. Sophomore Christie Modafari (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) is tied for 29th with a 96 and first-year Cora Bradford (Union, Ky./Ryle) is tied for 40th with a 101.
Two Thomas More golfers competed as individuals as junior Amber Greene (Catlettsburg, Ky./Fairview) is tied for 38th with a 100 and junior Bethany DeAtley (Muse Mills, Ky./Fleming County) is in 56th place with a 129.
Denison University leads the team championship with a 326.
Thomas More will compete in the second and final round of the tournament tomorrow starting at 11 a.m.
