(BELLE VERNON, Pa.) - The Thomas More College women's golf team carded a 492 today (Friday, April 25, 2014) in the first round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship played at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
The Saints are in seventh place in the PAC Championship standings with a 1,589 (547-550-492) as the PAC Championship counts towards one half of the 72-hole total used to determine the 2013-14 PAC champion, which earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. The first 36 holes were played at Oak Tree Golf Country Club in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania on September 30 and October 1, 2013.
The individual conference standings are calculated on only the 36 holes in the Spring. Thomas More golfers were freshman Emilie Mattei (Cinincinnati, Ohio/Seton) with a 104, freshman Katelyn Beatrice (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) with a 105, sophomore Kelsey Hood (Carlisle, Ohio/Carlisle) with a 130 and freshman Kelly McDonald (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) with a 153.
Grove City College leads the team standings with a 1,101 (360-361-380) and Saint Vincent College's Hunter Sarah Rebitch leads the individual standings with a 73.
The Saints will close out the PAC Championship tomorrow when they start teeing off at 11 a.m.
