(TYLER, Texas) – Thomas More University senior pitcher/shortstop Alix DeDreu (Rising Sun, Ind./Rising Sun) and junior first baseman Andrea Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) have been named NCAA Division III All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
DeDreu and Gahan become two-time All-Americans as DeDreu earned the honor in 2017 and Gahan earned the honor in 2018. They join Ana Walter as Thomas More softball All-Americans as she earned the honor in 2014).
DeDreu was a first team selection in the utility position. In the circle this season DeDreu had a 1.39 earned run average with a 21-6 record as she pitched 160.2 innings and recorded 189 strikeouts. Her strikeouts are a Thomas More single-season record while her 21 wins ranks second. At the plate, DeDreu set the school's single season record for hits with 77, doubles with 26 and batting average with a .490 average. Her 26 doubles leads all of Division III this season and her 77 hits ranks second. DeDreu is graduating with the Thomas More career record in hits (254), at-bats (607), doubles (61), RBI (149), wins (67), strikeouts (527) and ERA (1.73).
Gahan was a second team selection at first base. Gahan batted .439 as she was 61-of-139 at the plate with 14 home runs, 14 doubles, 53 RBI and 46 runs scored. Her runs scored and RBI are tied for second in Thomas More single season record book and her home runs are tied for third in the record book. Gahan is ranked in the Top-5 in four Thomas More career record categories as she is tied for second in home runs (38), tied for third in RBI (42), fourth in doubles (44) and home runs (five).
Thomas More concluded the season with a 34-11 record as it won the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Championship and finished as NCAA Division III regional finalists.
