(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More softball team swept this week's ACAA Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. Senior Alix DeDreu and junior Andrea Gahan were named Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for their performances last week.
DeDreu, a pitcher from Rising Sun, Ind. and Rising Sun High School, earned the win in game one vs. DePauw, as she pitched all seven innings and gave up two runs (earned) on nine hits and struck out six. The win was DeDreu's 60th career win which tied the all-time record at Thomas More. She now is the leader in all-time wins and all-time strikeouts.
Gahan, a senior infielder from Cincinnati, Ohio and Oak Hills High School, helped lead the Saints to a doubleheader split with NCAA Division III Central Region No. 1-ranked DePauw University. She batted .833 as she was five-for-six with a home run, two runs batted-in, one double and three runs scored. Gahan also had a 1.500 slugging percentage and an .857 on-base percentage.
The Saints take on Adrian on Thursday in a double header make up game and their final two games of the regular season.
