(BETHANY, WA.) – The Thomas More College women's softball team went 2-0 today against the Bethany Bison. In the first game, the Saints won 5-2, and won 7-2 in the second game. With the wins, the Saints are now 11-11 overall and 4-0 in the PAC. With the losses, Bethany falls to 8-8- overall and 1-3 in the PAC.
In the first game, Mary Beth Odom started off the scoring for the Saints with a home run to center field in the second inning. When she came up to bat in the fourth inning, she hit her second home run of the game, scoring Sammy Sagers in the process. Bethany got on the board in the fourth inning making the score 3-1. Alix DeDreu singled to left center which scored Laura Finke and Andrea Gahan singled to left field which scored DeDreu in the fifth inning. The Bison tried to make a run in the seventh inning, but could not overcome the lead that the Saints had.
In the second game, DeDreu singled to the right side scoring Sagers and Finke. Odom singled through the left side, scoring DeDreu in the first inning. The Bison made an attempt to tie the game as they scored two runs cutting the Saints lead to one. In the fifth inning, Sagers doubled to left center, scoring Sydney Turner and Amanda Lloyd. Kenzi Dickerson singled to center to center scoring Sagers and Gahan doubled to left, scoring Danielle Piening making the final score 7-2. Hannah Sprague was on the mound for the Saints in game two, facing 30 batters, allowing two runs on only six hits.
In the first game, Odom went 2-2 hitting two home runs. DeDreu went 3-4 hitting a double and Finke went 2-4 at the plate. DeDreu was on the mound for the Saints in game one, facing 32 batters only allowing two runs on seven hits.
In the second game, Finke went 1-2, Sagers went 3-4, Dickerson went 2-4, and Turner went 2-3 at the plate.
