Men's Soccer Hosts Transylvania on Thursday

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More men's soccer team is set to hose Transylvania in its second home match of the season. The Saints come into the game 1-1 while the Pioneers are 0-1-1. 

  • The 1-1 Thomas More men's soccer hosts the 0-1-1 Transylvania for its second home matchup of the year.
  • The game will start at 2:00pm on BB&T Field, Thursday, Sept. 6.

  • The Saints came out victorious in their season and home opener against Wilmington College, 3-1.
  • Ethan Smith registered a hat trick with all three goals in the match for the saints.
  • On their first road match, the Hanover Panthers proved to be too much for the Saints, as they fell 2-1.
  • Thomas More out-shot Hanover 14-6, including 9-5 on-goal.
  • First-year Nick Gish scored his first goal of his collegiate career, scoring the only goal of the match for the Saints.
  • Bryce Day took two shots which were all on goal.
  • Goalkeeper Jeff Paulin recorded five saves over the two matches.

  • The Pioneers come into the matchup 0-1-1, falling 2-1 in overtime to No. 11-ranked Otterbein and ended in a 1-1 draw in two overtimes to Ohio Northern.
  • Thomas Shellenberg scored the only goal in the ONU match for the Pioneers, with an assist from Jason Murillo.
  • In the Otterbein match, goalkeeper Michael Kline recorded six saves.
