Thomas More Wins UPike Invitational

(PRESTONBURG, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's golf team shot a 588 (291-297) and won the University of Pikeville Invitational today (Sunday, April 7, 2019) at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonburg, Kentucky.

  • Junior Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) shot a school record 64 in the second round to win individual medalist honors with a 135 (71-64).
  • Junior Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) finished fifth with a 150 (74-76).
  • Junior Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished with a 154 (72-82).
  • First-year Landon Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) shot a 155 (74-81).
  • Senior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic)  carded a 156 (80-76).


  • The Saints' "B" team finished fourth with a 655 (318-337).
  • First-year Sebastian Sims (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) finished with a 154 (73-81).
  • Sophomore Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) shot a 159 (74-85).
  • Sophomore Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Latin) fired a 171 (85-86).
  • Junior Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) carded a 171 (86-85).
  • First-year Tyler Sansom (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished with a  187 (95-92).

  • The Saints return to the links on April 13 and 14 when they compete at the Ney Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster at Wooster Country in Wooster, Ohio.
