Thomas More Wins Saints Spring Invitational: Alexander Medalist

(PERRY PARK, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's golf team shot a second round 301 today (Sunday, March 24, 2019) and won the Saints Spring Invitational with a two-day total of 612 (311-301) at the Perry Park Golf Resort in Perry Park, Kentucky.

  • Junior Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) won individual medalist honors with a 140 (72-68).
  • Junior Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished tied for fourth with a 153 (75-78).
  • Junior Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) tied for eighth with a 157 (81-76).
  • Sophomore Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Latin) placed 13th with a 165 (86-79).
  • First-year Sebastian Sims (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) finished 14th with a 169 (83-86).

  • Five Saints competed as individuals.
  • First-year Landon Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) placed second with a 151 (72-79).
  • Senior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) was third with a 152 (75-77).
  • Sophomore Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) finished seventh with a 155 (78-77).
  • First-year Tyler Sansom (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) was 16th with a 184 (98-86).
  • Junior Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) finished 17th with a 188 (94-94).

  • Thomas More is idle until April 6 and 7 when it competes at the UPike Spring Invitational at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonburg, Kentucky.
