Saints Finish Ninth in Texas

(KERRVILLE, Texas) – The Thomas More University men's golf team finished ninth with a 633 (312-21) (Tuesday, March 12, 2019) at the Schreiner University Spring Shootout at the Club of Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas.

  • Junior Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) led the Saints as he is tied for 22nd with a 155 (76-79).
  • Senior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) and first-year Landon Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) finished tied for 35th with matching 157's (78-79).
  • Junior Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) finished 57th with 169 (80-89)
  • Sophomore Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) finished 61st with a 175 (91-84).

  • Five Saints competed as individuals.
  • Junior Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished 57th with a 168 (81-87).
  • First-year Tyler Sansom (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) shot a career low 77 in the second round and finished 60th with a 173 (96-77).
  • First-year Sebastian Sims (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) finished 62nd with a 177 (82-95)
  • Sophomore Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Latin) shot a 182 (91-91) and placed 63rd.
  • Junior Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) finished 65th with a 200 (104-96).

  • Thomas More returns to action on March 23 and 24 when it hosts the Saints Spring Invitational at Perry Park Golf Resort in Perry Park, Kentucky.
