Thomas More Tied for First at Stateline Shootout

(OXFORD, Ohio) – The Thomas More University men's golf team shot a first round 291 today (Saturday, October 6, 2018) and is tied for first place at the Stateline Shootout host by Mount St. Joseph University at Indian Ridge Golf Club in Oxford, Ohio.

  • Senior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) is tied for third with a 71.
  • Junior Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) is tied for third with a 71.
  • Junior Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) is tied for ninth with a 74.
  • First-year Landon Finn (Florence, Ky./Boone County) is tied for 12th after carding a 75.
  • Sophomore Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Latin) is tied for 34th with an 83.

  • Thomas More had five golfers compete as individuals.
  • Junior Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) is tied for 41st with an 85.
  • Sophomore Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) is tied for 49h with an 87.
  • First-year Tyler Sansom (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) is 51st with an 88.
  • Junior Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) is in 55h place with a 91.
  • First-year Sebastian Sims (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) is tied for 56th as he shot a 95.

  • The Saints will close out the Stateline Shootout tomorrow (October 7) when they compete in the second round at Indian Ridge.
