(NEW WILMINGTON, PA.) – The PAC released their weekly honors today, Monday, April 23. Seven Thomas More athletes made the PAC Honor Roll in men's tennis, men's golf, men's track and field, women's golf, softball, and baseball. Derrick Kwok, Nick Drake, Michael Campbell, Sara Jackie, Alix DeDreu, Dallis Knotts, and Blaise Ostertag were all selected as PAC Player of the Week or PAC Rookie of the Week for their respected sport.
Kwok secured a pair of victories at number one singles and partnered with first-year Jared Haught to win twice at number one doubles last week, helping the Saints post a 2-0 record to close out the regular season. He claimed a 7-6 (6-3), 6-4 win over Geneva Saturday before rolling to a 6-3, 6-0 win over Marietta
Drake received Rookie of the Week helping lead the Saints to a tri-match win Sunday over Saint Vincent and Washington & Jefferson. He finished fifth in the 19-player field with a seven-over 79.
Campbell ran to first-place finishes in the 800 meters (1:59.18) and 1,500 meters (4:04.57) Saturday afternoon at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational. His time in the 1,500 ranks second in the league while his time in the 800 is seventh.
Jackie helped lead Thomas More to a first-place finish at Sunday's Oglebay Tri-Match, which was played on Oglebay's Palmer Course in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was the individual medalist in the 14-player field after carding an 82.
DeDreu received Pitcher of the Week going 3-0 over a pair of starts and a relief appearance in the circle last week for 4-0 Thomas More. She totaled 13.1 innings, yielding just five hits and a pair of walks while striking out 18. She did not allow a run in her three appearances. DeDreu allowed one hit in Saturday's 8-0 (5 inn.) game one shutout of Grove City.
Knotts received Hitter of the Week hitting .583 (7-for-12) with a home run, a triple, seven RBIs and four runs scored during the Saints' 4-0 week. She went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored in Thomas More's 8-0 (5 inn.) game one win over Grove City Saturday. In Sunday's 13-3 (5 inn.) game two wins over Anderson, Knotts logged two innings of scoreless relief in the circle. She finished the week with a .615 on-base percentage.
Ostertag received Hitter of the Week helping lead the Saints to a 4-2 record last week, including PAC doubleheader sweeps of Grove City and Westminster. He hit .455 (10-for-22) with four doubles, a pair of triples, a home run, six RBIs and seven runs scored. He finished the week with a .955 slugging percentage and a .519 on-base percentage. In a pair of non-conference losses at No. 17 Franklin Sunday, Ostertag went 4-for-8 (.500) with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and a run.
