Women's Soccer Hosts First Home Game

(CRESTVEIW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More women's soccer team is set to host its first home game this season, hosting the 1-2-1 Franklin College. 

 

  • The Thomas More women's soccer team is set to host its first home match of the season as Franklin College travels to BB&T Field for a 4:30pm game.

  • The Saints look to put their first win on the board as they come into the match 0-4.
  • The Saints went 0-2 at the Bob Baptista Invitational in Wheaton, Ill. taking on Wheaton and Aurora.
  • Thomas More fell 1-0 to Wheaton and 2-1 in overtime to Aurora.
  • In the Wheaton matchup, junior midfielder Kristina Felix (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) had a shot on-goal and first-year midfielder Hannah Kopriwa (Cincinnati, Ohio/Taylor) tallied a shot on-goal.
  •  Megan Sheridan booted in, from 50-yards away, the tying goal in the 88th minute off of an assist from Abby Hutcheson in the match against Aurora.
  • Maddy Kim was in the net for all 100:00 minutes, recording two saves off four shots, allowing two goals. 
  • Hannah Dargo and Olivia Nienaber led the game in shots, totaling four each.
  • Dargo also recorded one shot on goal while Nienaber recorded two.

  • The Grizzlies come into the game today 1-2-1.
  • Franklin defeated Concordia Wisconsin 5-4 and tied Fontbonne in double overtime, 1-1.
  • The Grizzlies are coming off a 2-1 double overtime loss to DePauw University on Tuesday.
  • Jalynn Gorman leads the team in goals (5), assists (2), and points (12).
  • Maddie Fleet leads the team in shots (16) and shots on goal (11).
  • The team is averaging 11.3 shots per game.

  • The Sewanee match will start at 1:00pm.
