Men's Soccer Falls to Grove City

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More men's soccer team fell, 3-1, to Grove City College today (Saturday, September 29, 2018) on Senior Day at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

  • Grove City took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute when Jon Burton scored off a Nate Curry corner kick.
  • The Wolverines extended the lead to 2-0 when Trent Strick scored on a Christian Caporaso assist in the 32nd minute.
  • Thomas More cut the lead to 2-1 later in the 32nd minute when junior center back Bryce Day (Edgewood, Ky./Covington Catholic) found the back of the net.
  • Grove City closed out the scoring in the 68th minute when Caporaso scored off a Brooks Thomas cross for the final score of 3-1.

  • Thomas More falls to 4-6-2 and Grove City improves to 7-1-2.
  • Senior center back Suli Kayed (Slagelse, DK/Ryle (Ky.)) led the team in shots with seven.
  • Senior goalkeeper Jeff Paulin (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) played all 90 minutes in goal and had three saves.
  • The Saints out-shot Grove City, 12-10.

  • The Saints return to action on October 3 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to play Ohio Wesleyan University at 7 p.m.
